News November 2009 Hi to all our loyal visitors. It has been a very long time since I touched this site - 5 years :-o .... Regrettably personal issues have kept me otherwise engaged. Winsite closed this year (2009). We have always used Winsite as our programmes on-line storage. Fortunately there are many mirrors available. But alas it seems some programmes have not been saved. With the closing of Winsite all of our download links are dead. We will try to update what we can, as and when we can. Since my last update it seems 3D RAD has come back from the brink (in a new form). It is now also freeware (can be used to create commercial games). If you don't have the programme then I recommend you download it now 3D RAD It seems Vue has also moved on to Vue 8. Vue 8 Pioneer (basic form) is also free but has limitations. It a massive download (over 500MB) but defiantly work the wait Vue 8 Pioneer. They also do a Personal Learning Edition which is free for personal use Vue 7 OpenFX has come to an end (with no more updates). The new RAD uses x-files, which OpenFX can't create. So I think its time to move on to a different 3D modeller. Blender can create x-files so I am going to concentrate on this software now. Its open source and available from Blender Web site The download totals of our software have continued to go up even with the rest of the site remaining dormant. The figures are now bewilderingly high .... An example of which is our ever-popular Tiger 144 game - 2,233,232 downloads and the version two upgrade is currently at 624,357. We obviously have lots of users out there :-) June 2004 It's been a while since anything new has appeared on the site. The good news is that two programmes are due to be added. The long awaited Tele-Pad programme is almost ready for posting. This programme I created for myself. It's been running on my computer for sometime now (6 months) and it has proved to be a very useful tool. So I decided to iron out the minor bugs and get it finished, ready for release. The second programme is about a third completed. It's a Calender / Reminder. It will have to under go testing once completed. So it may be a while before it can be launched. If all goes well, and so far the programme is functioning as it should, this should turn out to be a very useful utility. The programming within the calender / reminder (not got a name for it yet) will allow for easy updating while retaining the already entered data. January 2004 It's been a while since I updated this site. Other commitments have resulted in all programme creation being suspended for the time being. Soap box time:-The site will remain as is, for now. Feel free to download the games and programmes. Have fun. November 2003 We have been approached by publishers of COMPUTER VIGNAN - Telugu computer magazine of Andhra, Pradesh, in India. They are to host some of our programmes on their cover CD. (Planet Tour VR, Times Tables, Spelling Test and Tiger 144). They were due to be on their CD in September, but missed the dead line. September 2003 We have had to modify the Model and Render gallery pages again. It appears that our java script didn't work correctly and failed to load in the pictures. August 2003 Well the holiday season is here, once again. SKM Software would like to wish everyone a happy summer holiday. At this time each year we shut down for four weeks to enjoy the holidays. We will be back in full swing in September. What started as a minor change to the website has ended up in a mini overhaul of the site. Changes include reducing the colour content (was getting heavy). New header banner (colourful and loads faster). Plus new side table headings. The Modelling and Render pages have been overhauled to improve loading and are now interactive (only the pictures your interested load). We have added a "Make a Donation" button to our home page. If you value our freeware programmes and would like to make a donation, it would be appreciated. July 2003 Our Guest Book is off line due to major problems at Sitegadgets. It also means any emails to the Sitegadgets email address have been lost. If you have contacted us via the Sitegadgets address - please try one of the others. This appears to be a complete breakdown, with all data being lost. We will have to find an alternative provider. We are in the process of developing a telephone pad programme, designed to display names and numbers. This simple to use utility will be able to hold 20 names and numbers. For more information about the programme click here. June 2003 Another change to the site layout. This should, hopefully, be the last change for a while. Planet Tour VR - A great freeware learning aid programme. Uploaded to Winsite, available to download soon. See here. Tank Killer has been re-launched as a freeware programme. We decided that the programme was too simple to justify a licence code fee. If you downloaded the shareware version simply delete it and try v1.1 which is freeware. See here. May 2003 - Update We are still experiencing problems with the site. Further house cleaning has been carried out to greatly reduce the loading time. New programme. Planet Tour VR is now under going fine tuning and testing. Something of a milestone this one. Creating this programme has taken our VR programmes into a new category, opening up endless possibilities for future creations, on a similar or even grandeur scale. To find out more about the programme click here. May 2003 Programme downloads have reached 10000 - that's 10000 SKM Software users worldwide. We have been experiencing problems with the site - pictures failing to load. In an attempt to overcome the problem we have tried to streamline the site, to enable faster download. We have also changed the site layout and design to make it clearer and easier to read. The programme 'Planets of our Solar System' has been abandoned. Unfortunately, try as we might, we could not overcome the problems relating to the size of the programme. |
